October fun

Hey bloggers! Can you believe that tomorrow is October?? I sure can't. And it's setting up to be another busy month for me... I get to go with Tyler on his first Cub Scout camping trip the 16-18. Now, he's super excited about it, they get to shoot bows and arrows, bb guns, all the fun boy stuff. Me, not so excited for tent camping. But I'm looking forward to the time with him of course, as well as getting some good pictures! Tyler is also going on a school camping trip at the end of the month and he has his first band concert, along with 3 weekends in Tucson!

Have you purchased your October Brownie Addiction membership yet? It is going to be hosted by FlutterbyeFaery and today is the last day to get it for just $5! Starting tomorrow it goes up to $10, but even then it is so worth it! Evie previewed the Halloween kit she made for it - I can't wait to get it!

I also signed up for Brownie Scraps' Fairytale Academy , a 6 week course of design challenges and lessons. I have never done any designing before and I am really excited to learn some basics! By the end, I will have a full kit designed, hopefully I will be happy enough with it to put my name on it and give it away here on my blog… No guarantees though lol. Class starts October 5, and “school supplies” are only $5, so come join the class!

Autumn Afternoon

Karen Lewis {Designz} has her Autumn Afternoon kit out at Gotta Pixel

I also used her Edge Overlays Vol. 3, a super versatile set that I will use over and over again!

Check out my layouts I made using them!

Making the Grade, my first Freebie and more!

Ramona the Pest has a wonderful new kit out! It's called Making the Grade and it's a fun non-traditional back to school kit. I love that it's great for younger and older kids alike and it's not the same old primary colors! Find it HERE at Brownie Scraps!

Here's the page I made using Making the Grade:
(Paper shape from Mara Wegner and Chalk Alpha from Kristin Aagard)

I like this page so much, I made it into a Quick Page for you!

How would you like a coupon for Making the Grade? All you have to do is become a Facebook fan of Brownie Scraps!

Ramona is also working on a hybrid project for this kit, so keep an eye out for that!

Do you get the Brownie Scraps Newsletter? You don't??? Sign up HERE! It is a fabulous weekly newsletter filled with new releases, interviews, hybrid projects, recipes, coupons and of layout inspiration! Well imagine my suprise when I opened up the second issue this morning and was greeted by... me! lol This layout was chosen as Layout of the Week!

A long overdue blogging...sit back and enjoy the ride!

I have been meaning to update, but you know how it goes, it's been a busy month!

I was lucky enough to work with Out of this World by Karen Lewis. I love the bright but soft colors and there are so many fun elements! You can snag this kit at Gotta Pixel!

Here are the super cute pages I made with it!

In between work, Tyler's homework, band practice, cub scouts, trips to Casa Grande and Tucson, I've been trying to get lots of scrapping done...
Brownie Scraps has the Birthday Celebration going on all month, with a new challenge everyday, in addition to the usual monthly challenges, speed scraps, scrap alongs, and Bingo games! My goal is to get challenges done and I'm at 6 so far, so I'm hoping I can meet my goal! Here is a LO I did for the last speed scrap and one of Birthday Challenges:

I am also still in the Sunshine Studio's Scrap Idol Contest, and it's been fun pushing myself toward the 50 LO goal to earn all the prizes! I'm at 22 layouts created in the month of September, so I've earned the Level 1 prize -a great pack of Templates, and I just got to Level 2 tonight - a super cute collab kit I can't wait to play with! See my full SUN Gallery HERE
I've been lucky enough to get some great RAK's lately too, I have a whole list of kits I want to work with... I need to get some more pictures taken and I have a whole bunch I need to scan, I'm going to run out of pictures to work with pretty soon lol! But we are going camping this weekend, so there will be lots of opportunities, especially Tyler with his new bike he got tonight!

Birthday Bash! (in more ways than one!)

Friday was Tyler's 11th birthday and yesterday we had a Laser Tag birthday party. He and his friends from school had a blast and somehow I got talked into 2 of the boys spending the night... So we had some pizza, they played games and stayed up late and now we're getting ready to go see a movie!

But before we head out, I wanted to share my latest creations!

My first assignment on the Gotta Pixel Creative Team is with the amazing Silvia Romeo. I chose her Birthday Bash Girls Kit to work with first. You can find it here!

Now if you follow me, you know I don't usually do super girly pages but I was looking to challenge myself with this super cute kit!

Thanks for looking!

I will be back soon with birthday party pictures!

LOs and my announcement!

Since I mentioned the speed scrap I was doing last night, I thought I'd post the finished product! :)

Journaling reads: we went out to dinner for my birthday and ordered some sushi. when the shrimp came, it had a very fancy presentation, including the fried heads! papa bet you a dollar that you wouldn't eat an antennae, so of course you had to! but he won his dollar back when he ate the eyeball...

I did my first 2-pager today!
Gina’s 12!
My boyfriend's daughter's birthday
Journaling: For Gina’s birthday, we spent the day at the resort, where Tyler and Josie were finally brave enough to go on the water slide. Once they realized it wasn’t scary, we couldn’t keep them off it!

It's a new record for me, 3 pages done just today! I am participating in Scrap Idol over at Sunshine Studio Scraps and there are some awesome participation prizes, so I'm trying to get 50 layouts done in September to collect them all... 9 down, 41 to go! But my original goal for the month was 25 so I'm on track for that.
I'm also going to have some help reaching my goal though, because I've been asked to join the Gotta Pixel Site CT team! I am one of the lucky ones who has been chosen from the many talented scrappers who participated in the Scrap Star contest over the last 4 weeks. I am super excited to start working with the wonderfully talented GP Designers!
